Lt Day Lifting Oswald's Rifle

The picture is of Dallas Police Officer Lt. Day as he carries a Manlincher Carcano Rifle through the hallway of the department. This rifle was used by Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate President Kennedy. It was found on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository and conatained both the palm and finger prints of Lee Harvey Oswald. Many conspiracy buffs consider this picture controversial. They believe the Dallas Police was showing off their great find by lifting the rifle. However, that day the Dallas Police Department was packed with people including many memebers of the press. Lt Day lifted the rifle up high so that no-one could touch it while he moved it from one room to another. Lt Day was responsible for lifting both the palm print and finger print from the rifle. In fact, he did such a thorough job that he left no trace of the prints on the rifle for the FBI to look at. Many people say that the prints were put on the rifle after Oswald was captured because prints were not found on the stock by the FBI. But in reality, it is because Lt. Day had already examined the rifle and said that he retrieved the prints. When the time line is confused , one would think that the prints were found after the FBI said that they could not find any. Oliver Stone tries confusing this issue in his movie.
